Footlocker West Regionals in California

I'm here with the Westlake Cross Country Team, and we're heading up to run in the last race of our extended season.  After a disappointing Nike Cross finish, I'm aiming to make this one one to remember.  I'll run a solid workout to get ready for the race the following day, since it's really important that we all get adjusted to the low altitude ASAP.  I'll keep you posted on how everything turns out on Saturday.

BYU Autumn Classic

This past Saturday, the 14th, I ran up at BYU with Westlake. It was a huge meet with 1500 people signed up to race in the JV, Froshsoph, Varsity, and Collegiate groups. My cousin from Arizona (below) came up to run for BYU as an unattached, and did very well. She placed 12th on the team, and 22nd Overall, with a time of 19:30. It was a slow course. With mud, hills, and one particularly tight turn, this course was quite a challenge. Westlake's Varsity team finished 5th overall, and I ended 40th overall with a time of 17:30. The Varsity girls finished 11th overall, and Davis won with an outstanding score of 26 pts. This wasn't one of our better races, as a team, but that's just how it goes sometimes. The pics below are in order showing the Mens' Collegiate Race, the JV Boys, & Varsity girls.

Running with the Westlake Thunder XC Team

It's a new page in my life, as I wake up every morning now to go run six-seven miles daily with new faces, and a new schedule. The Westlake Thunder have become my newest team, and it looks like I'll finish up my Junior and Senior year here at Westlake. As I look back on my Sophomore season, I feel somewhat disappointed. Hence, my lapse of blogging for such a long time. However, a new season has started, and this first post marks the beginning of the season.
