This race, hosted on by Gulf Winds down by the Moose lodge in Quincy, was the waviest, hilliest race I've ever run, without a doubt. The first hill alone went on for a good 200 meters! Despite that, a good sized crowd of about 80 people showed up to take on the challenge, including my summer conditioning coach: Gary Droze. He ended up winning the race, despite Seth Venable's early lead, and taunting. I started off not too far behind Seth and Coach Droze, and ended up passing Seth about halfway, but I have to admit, Coach Droze gave it to me and Seth. At about the two mile marker, he took off like a bullet, and we didn't see him until the end of the race. Oh yeah, one last thing, Mrs. Droze also snagged the women's overall trophy. I guess racing runs in their family! Here are the times on Gulf Winds (if you're interested).
